This is a poem I wrote after a major life event. It is true that courage is a muscle and the more you flex it, the stronger it gets. The more leaps of faith, the more you trust in the unknown which is magical. I once read a quote by Robin Sharma that said, "Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end." This is a picture of my dog Kali after practicing many times to land the perfect catch and she did it! I was shocked I caught it on my camera. Those perfect moments in time. Kali is definitely one of my mentors! This is one of our favorite places - Toney River, NS.
Courage is Rad
The new Vitamin C
It will transform
Your identity
The courage to connect
Instead of resist
The courage to feel
When you are pissed
The courage to love
When it’s not easy
The courage to protect
Your sanctuary
The courage to speak
Your words of truth
The courage to be rejected
In the unpopular booth
The courage to take risks
Even if you fail
The courage to surface
Like a breaching whale
The courage to cry
When life gets tough
The courage to change
When you’ve had enough
The courage to be alone
Even when it’s scary
The courage to have
Opinions to the contrary
The courage to know
When your choices harm
The courage to get help
When you hear the alarm
The courage to know
Ignorance is not bliss
The courage to surrender
To a passionate kiss
The courage to know
You create your own life
The courage to disconnect
From drama and strife
The courage to eat healthy
When you’d rather not
The courage to exercise
Your train of thought
The courage to admit
You’re not always right
The courage to benefit
From the gift of hindsight
The courage to trust
Anxiety will leave
The courage to allow
emotions to breathe
The courage to not compete
With anyone but you
The courage to stay present
Until you breakthrough
The courage to be courageous
When you’d rather die
The courage to give it all
